The standard insurance amount currently is $250,000 per depositor. The $250,000 limit is permanent for certain retirement accounts, which includes IRAs. The $250,000 limit is temporary for all other deposit accounts through December 31, 2013. On January 1, 2014, the standard insurance amount will return to $100,000 per depositor for all account categories except certain retirementaccounts, which will remain at $250,000 per depositor.

IMPORTANT MESSAGE

First National Bank & Trust Co. in Larned is participating in the extension of FDIC's Transaction Account Guarantee Program. Under that program, through December 31, 2010, all noninterest-bearing transaction accounts are fully guaranteed by the FDIC for the entire amount in the account. Coverage under the Transaction Account Guarantee Program is in addition to and separate from the coverage available under the FDIC's general deposit insurance rules.

For purposes of the transaction account guarantee program, the FDIC is including Negotiable Order of Withdrawal accounts (NOW account) as noninterest-bearing transaction accounts as long as interest rates do not exceed their mandated rates. The maximum interest rate we can offer for these accounts will be reduced to 0.25 percent from 0.50% as of July 1, 2010. Money Market deposit accounts (MMAs) are not included in this unlimited coverage.
